The 2019 Monetary and Financial Policy Conference,  organised by the MMF jointly with NIESR,  brings together the central bank watching community in the UK in one place to discuss all aspects of the policy debate. This year’s conference is devoted to the appropriate framework for monetary policy, and James Bullard (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis), Stefan Ingves (Riksbank), Jan Vlieghe (Bank of England) and Frederick Mishkin (Columbia) are all giving keynote presentations.

NIESR is hosting a session dedicated to the monetary policy framework here in the UK, in which the Director, Jagjit Chadha, will launch an e-book that proposes a series of reforms that the Chancellor and the next Governor of the Bank should consider. Dame Kate Barker, former MPC member, will chair the Q & A with the other authors. Details of the e-book can be found here.
