2024 UK General Election: Members’ Roundtable

At this roundtable event, NIESR researchers will present and discuss their analysis of key areas of economic and social policy, ahead of the upcoming General Election.

Drawing on work that was recently conducted with the support of the Nuffield Foundation, our speakers will present their findings and policy recommendations to tackle what we believe are the five main priorities: improving productivity;  focusing on the transition to net-zero; raising living standards; reforming the fiscal framework to support growth; and moving towards a long-term assessment of economic objectives when deciding tax and spending plans.

The event will provide an opportunity for NIESR Corporate Members, representatives of foreign missions and key stakeholders from trade and industry bodies to engage in a discussion on these key themes, and gain in-depth insights from our researchers.
