This evidence was submitted to the Treasury Select Committee in response to a call for evidence into the the issue of quantitative tightening, including its impact on the economy and its fiscal costs. The committee's inquiry also investigated the role of quantitative easing and tightening in the current outbreak of double-digit inflation and in bringing inflation down.
