Taking place one week prior to the release of our Autumn Economic Outlooks, and the day after the new Labour Government’s first Budget on 30 October, this roundtable for corporate members, NiGEM users and select senior leaders will focus on our initial examination and response to the Autumn Budget.
What will potential changes to the fiscal rules mean for the UK economic outlook? Will the Chancellor have sufficient headroom for the investment the UK public services need? Will the Government raise taxes without breaking manifesto pledges? What will the effect be on the UK economy (employment and GDP) of the potential rise in employer national insurance contributions and other types of taxation increases? Will any of the policies announced help tackle the long-standing UK productivity and investment issues?
Join us on 31 October to discuss with our researchers some early analysis and the implications of the policy announcements, as well as explore what else may need to be considered as we look to address the economic challenges we face.
Please note this event is invite only and limited to our corporate members, NiGEM subscribers, Governors and university partners.
